tears .idle tears (泪水,无端地流)
tears .idle tears .i know not what they mean.
tears from the depth of some diving despair
rise in the heart .adn gather to the eyes
in looking on the happy autumn-fields
and thinking of the days that are no more
fresy as the first beam glittering on a sail
that brings our friends from the underworld
sad as the last which reddens over one
that sinks with all we love below the verge
so sad .so frech .the days that are no more
ah. sad and strange as in dark summer dawns
the earliest pipe of the half-awaken’d birds
to dying ears .when unto dying eyes
the casement slowly grows a glimmering aquare
so sad ,so strange .the days that are no more
dear as remember’d kisses after death
and sweet as those by hopeless fancy feign’d
on lips that are for others .deep as love
deep as first love ,and wild with all regret
o death in life the days that are no more
by edgar allan poe 爱伦坡
helen,thy beauty is to me
like those nicèan barks of yore
that gently, o’er a perfumed sea,
the weary way-worn wanderer bore
to his own native shore.
on desperate seas long wont to roam,
thy hyacinth hair, thy classic face,
thy naiad airs have brought me home
to the glory that was greece,
and the grandeur that was rome.
lo, in yon brilliant window-niche
how statue-like i see thee stand,
the agate lamp within thy hand,
ah! psyche, from the regions which
are holy land!
i hear america singing — walt whitman
i hear america singing, the varied carols i hear.
those of mechanics, each one singing his as it should be blithe and strong,
the carpenter singing his as he measures his plank or beam,
the mason singing his as he makes ready for work,or leaves off work,
the boatman singing what belongs to him in his boat, the deckhand singing on the steamboat deck,
the shoemaker singing as he sits on his bench, the hatter singing as he stands,
the wood-cutter’s song, the ploughboy’s on his way in the morning,
or at noon intermission or at sundown,
the delicious singing of the mother, or of the young wife at work,
or of the girl sewing or washing,
each singing what belongs to him or her and to none else,
the day what belongs to the day--at night the party of young fellows, robust, friendly,
singing with open mouths their strong melodious songs.
适合女生朗诵的英文诗歌:THE MOST DISTANCE、life等。
即Practice makes perfect(多练出真功)。
She is a baby doctor.

A Psalm of Life(1839)
by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
What the Heart of the Young Man
Said to the Psalmist
Tell me not,in mournful numbers,
"Life is but an empty dream!"
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
它的归宿决不是荒坟; And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art,to dust returnest,"
Was not spoken of the soul.
Not enjoyment,and not sorrow,
不是享乐,也不是受苦; Is our destined end or way;
But to act,that each to-morrow
Finds us further than to-day.
Art is long,and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts,though stout and brave,
Still,like muffled drums,are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.
In the world’s broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb,driven cattle!
Be a hero in the strife!
Trust no Future,howe’er pleasant!
Let the dead Past bury its dead!
Act,---act in the living Present!
Heart within,and God o’erhead!
Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And,departing,leave behind us
留下脚印在时间的沙上; Footprints on the sands of time;
Footprints,that perhaps another,
Sailing o’er life’s solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing,shall take heart again.
Let us,then,be up and doing,
对任何命运都敢于担戴; With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving,still pursuing
Learn to labor and to wait.
It Is Not Always May 人生不总是阳光明媚
——by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
The sun is bright, - the air is clear,
The darting swallows soar and sing.
And from the stately elms I hear,
The bluebird prophesying Spring.
So blue you winding river flows,
It seems an outlet from the sky,
Where waiting till the west-wind blows,
The freighted clouds at anchor lie.
All things are new; - the buds, the leaves,
That gild the elm-tree’s nodding crest,
And even the nest beneath the eaves;
There are no birds in last year’s nest!
就是屋檐下的鸟巢也是新筑的;
All things rejoice in youth and love,
The fullness of their first delight!
And learn from the soft heavens above
The melting tenderness of night.
Maiden, that read’st this simple rhyme,
Enjoy thy youth, it will not stay;
Enjoy the fragrance of thy prime,
For oh, it is not always May!
你当尽享你的青春,因为它不会停留;
Enjoy the Spring of Love and Youth,
To some good angel leave the rest;
For Time will teach thee soon the truth,
There are no birds in last year’s nest!
把其余的留给好心的天使照顾;
Break, break, break
On thy cold gray stones, O Sea!
And I would that my tongue could utter
The thoughts that arise in me.
O, well for the fisherman’s boy,
That he shouts with his sister at play!
O, well for the sailor lad,
That he sings in his boat on the bay!
与姊妹一起游戏呼喊;
And the stately ships go on
To their haven under the hill;
But O for the touch of a vanished hand,
And the sound of a voice that is still!
驶向山下的海港;
Break, break, break,
At the foot of thy crags, O Sea!
But the tender grace of a day that is dead
Will never come back to me.

1、Robert H. Schuller
Failure doesn’t mean you are a failure,It does mean you haven’t succeeded yet. Failure doesn’t mean you have accomplished nothing,It does mean you have learned something. Failure doesn’t mean you have been a fool,It does mean you had a lot of faith. Failure doesn’t mean you’ve been disgraced,It does mean you were willing to try. Failure doesn’t mean you don’t have it,It does mean you have to do something in a different way. Failure doesn’t mean you are inferior,It does mean you are not perfect. Failure doesn’t mean you’ve wasted your life,It does mean you have a reason to start afresh. Failure doesn’t mean you should give up,It does mean you must try harder. Failure doesn’t mean you’ll never make it,It does mean it will take a little longer. Failure doesn’t mean God has abandoned you,It does mean God has a better idea.
2、never forget
our presence is a gift to the world.
you’re unique and one of a kind.
your life can be what you want it to be
take it one day at a time.
focus on your blessings, not your troubles.
and you’ll make it through what comes along.
have belief in your ability.
persist, have courage, be strong.
nothing wastes more energy than worrying.
the longer a problem is carried,
the heavier it gets.
don’t take things too seriously.
live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.
don’t put limits on yourself.
your dreams are waiting to be realized.
don’t waste time making excuses.
reach for your peak, your goal!
3、the panther
his vision, from the constantly passing bars,
has grown so weary that it cannot hold
anything else. it seems to him there are
a thousand bars; and behind the bars, no world.
4、as he paces in cramped circles, over and over,
the movement of his powerful soft strides
is like a ritual dance around a center
in which a mighty will stands paralyzed.
5、only at times, the curtain of the pupils
lifts, quietly—. an image enters in,
rushes down through the tensed, arrested muscles,
plunges into the heart and is gone.

If you were ing in the Fall,
I’d brush the summer by
With half a *** ile, and half a spurn,
As Housewives do, a Fly。
If I could see you in a year,
I’d wind the months in balls—
And put them each in separate Drawers,
For fear the numbers fuse—
If only Centuries, delayed,
I’d count them on my hand,
Subtracting, till my fingers dropped
Into Van Dieman’s Land。
If certain, When this life was out—
That your’s and mine, should be
I’d toss it yonder, like a Rind,
And take Eternity—
But, now, uncertain of the length
Of this, that is between,
It goads me, like the Goblin Bee—
That will not state-it’s sting。
I saw thee’weep
the big bright tear
Came over that eve of blue
And then me thought it did appear
A violet dropping dew
I saw thee’ *** ile
the sapphire’s blaze
Beside thee’ceased to shine
It could not match the living rays
That filld’that glance of thine
As clouds from yonder sun receive
A deep and mellow dye
Which scarce the shade of ing eve
Can banish from the sky
Those *** iles unto the moodiest mind
Their own pure joy impart

Their sunshine leaves a glow behind
That lighens over the heart

the tide rises,the tide falls
the tides rises,the tide falls,
the twilight darkens, the curlew calls;
along the sea-sands damp and brown
the traveller hastens toward the town,
and the tide rises, the tide falls.
暮色渐浓,鸟鸣阵阵;
darkness setttles on roofs and walls,
but the sea, the sea in the darkness calls;
the little waves,with their soft, white hands,
and the tide rises,the tide falls.
而大海,却在黑暗中咆哮;
the morning breaks, the steeds in their stalls
stamp ande neigh, as the hostler calls;
the day returns, but nevermore
returns the traveller to the shore,
and the tide reses, the tide falls.
跺蹄、嘶鸣,马夫吼叫;

snow-bound: a winter idyl
by john greenleaf whittier 惠蒂埃
a chill no coat, however stout,
of homespun stuff could quite shut out,
a hard, dull bitterness of cold
that checked, mid-vein, the circling race
of life-blood in the sharpened face.
the coming of the snow storm told.
the wind blew east: we heard the roar
of ocean on his wintry shore
and felt the strong pulse throbbing there
beat with low rhythm our inland air
meanwhile we did our nightly chores
brought in the wood from out of doors
littered the stalls, and from the mows
raked down the herd’s grass for the cows
heard the horse whinying for his corn
and sharply clanging horn on horn
impatient down the stanchion rows
the cattle shake their walnut bows
while, peering from his early perch
upon the scaffold’s pole of birch
the cock his crested helmet bent
and down his querulous challenge sent

As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. I hear love, I believe in love Love is a pool of struggling blue-green algae As desolate micro-burst of wind Bleeding through my veins Years stationed in the belief I believe that all can hear Even anticipate discrete, I met the other their own Some can not grasp the moment Left to the East to go West, Gu, the dead must not return to See, I head home Zanhua, in full bloom along the way all the way Frequently missed some, but also deeply moved by wind, frost, snow or rain Prajna Paramita, soon as soon as Shengruxiahua dead, as an autumn leaf Also care about what has

If you were a teardrop
In my eye,
For fear of losing you,
I would never cry.
And if the golden sun,
Should cease to shine its light,
Just one smile from you,
Would make my whole world bright.
如果你是我眼里的一滴泪;
为了不失去你;
我将永不哭泣;
如果金色的阳光;
停止了它耀眼的光芒;
你的一个微笑;

If one day you feel like crying……
Call me.
I don‘t promise that I will make you laugh,
But I can cry with you.
If one day you want to run away —
Don‘t be afraid to call me.
I don‘t promise to ask you to stop……
But I can run with you.
If one day you don‘t want to listen to anyone……
Call me.
I promise to be there for you,
And I promise to be very quiet.
But if one day you call……
And there is no answer……
Come fast to see me,
Perhaps I need you.

A little spirit

As a flash of lightning rush out.
The calling language wakens,
The first fire is burning in the wild.

And it is the first time

You have your flower full blossomed,
My water current runs into the original country.
The lightning infuses into infinite happiness,
We bear a dark joss-stick floating as a witness.

May we embrace each other as you like——
Such is the happiness in brief.

A Complaint怨
A Complaint
There is a change—and I am poor;
Your love hath been, nor long ago,
A fountain at my fond heart’s door,
Whose only business was to flow;
And flow it did; not taking heed
Of its bounty, or my need.
What happy moments did I count!
Blest was I then all bliss above!
Now for that consecrated fount
Of murmuring, sparkling, living love,
What have I? shall I dare to tell?
A comfortless and hidden well.
A well of love—it may be deep--
I trust it is,—and never dry:
What matter? if the waters sleep
In silence and obscurity.
—Such change, and at the very door
Of my fond heart, hath made me poor.
我就显得多么可怜;
你的情曾是不竭的清泉;
那井水也许不会枯干;
