1. 一般过去时的定义

一般过去时表示过去某一时候或某一段时间所发生了的事情或存在的状态。常与过去时间yesterday, this morning, just now, a moment ago, in May, last night / year / week, once upon a time, the other day, before …, when – clause, in the past连用。如:

What did you do yesterday? 昨天你干了什么?

I met Lin Tao this morning. 今天上午我会到了林涛。

I was there a moment ago. 刚才我在那儿。

2. 一般过去时的应用

(1) 表示过去某时所发生的动作或存在的状态。如:

Liu Ying was in America last year. 刘英去年在美国。

Jim rang you just now. 吉姆刚才给你打了电话。

(2) 表示过去经常或反复发生的动作。常接时间副词often, usually, always, sometimes, every day / week, etc. 如:

We often went out for a walk after supper. 我们过去常在晚饭后散步。

3. 一般过去时对谓语动词的要求

一般过去时的谓语动词要用动词的过去式。动词过去式的构成分规则变化和不规则变化两种形式,不规则变化通常需要逐个记忆,规则变化则遵循以下原则:

(1) 一般在动词后加-ed。如:play—played, offer—offered, weigh—weighed, destroy— destroyed, sign—signed.

(2) 在以字母e结尾的动词后,只加-d。如:like—liked, provide—provided, hate — hated, date—dated。

4. 特别说明

1)状态系动词

用来表示主语状态,只有be一词。例如:

He is a teacher. 他是一名教师。(is与补足语一起说明主语的身份。)

2)持续系动词

用来表示主语继续或保持一种状况或态度,主要有keep, rest, remain, stay, lie, stand。例如:

He always kept silent at meeting.  他开会时总保持沉默。

This matter rests a mystery.  此事仍是一个谜。

3)表像系动词

用来表示"看起来像"这一概念,主要有seem, appear, look。例如:

He looks tired.  他看起来很累。

4)感官系动词

感官系动词主要有feel, smell, sound, taste。 例如:

5)变化系动词

这些系动词表示主语变成什么样,变化系动词主要有become, grow, turn, fall, get, go, come, run。例如:

6)终止系动词

表示主语已终止动作,主要有prove, turn out, 表达"证实","变成"之意。例如:

2 助动词

1)协助主要动词构成谓语动词的词叫助动词。被协助的动词称作主要动词。助动词自身没有词义,不可单独使用。例如:

He doesn′t like English. 他不喜欢英语。

(doesn′t是助动词,无词义;like是主要动词,有词义)

2) 助动词协助主要动词完成以下功用,可以用来:

a. 表示时态。例如:

b. 表示语态。例如:

c. 构成疑问句。例如:

1. 作定语

作定语的过去分词如果是单词,一般放在被修饰词的前面;过去分词短语作定语,一般放在被修饰词的后面。例如:

There are many fallen leaves on the ground.

This is a book written by a worker.

2. 作表语

过去分词作表语,多表示主语所处的状态。

I was pleased at the news.

The door remained locked.

过去分词作表语,相当于形容词,常见的有:delighted, disappointed, astonished, interested, satisfied, surprised, tired, worried, excited, married 等。

过去分词作表语时,应注意与被动结构的区别。系表结构说明主语的状态或具有的性质、特点;被动结构强调谓语动作。

The small village is surrounded by trees.(状态)

The small village was soon surrounded by enemy soldiers.(动作)

3. 过去分词做状语

①表时间,相当于一个时间状语从句,有时过去分词前可加连词 when 或 while 来强调时间概念。

②表原因,相当于一个原因状语从句。

Exhausted, the children fell asleep at once.

Encouraged by the speech, the young people made up their minds to take up the struggle.

③表条件,相当于一个条件状语从句,有时过去分词前可用 if 等词

Heated, water changes into steam.

Given another chance, he will do better.

④表让步,相当于一个though/although引导的让步状语从句。

Laughed at by many people, he continued his study.

⑤表伴随,说明动作发生的背景或情况。

Surrounded by a group of pupils, the old teacher walked into the classroom.

倒装句:

一、here, there, now, then, thus 等副词置于句首, 谓语动词常用 be, come, go, lie, run。

There goes the bell. 铃声响了。

Then came the chairman. _来了。

Here is your letter. 你的信。

二、否定词置于句首, 句子 应进行倒装。 neither 放句首

Tod can’t swim, neither can I. 托德不会 游泳 ,我也不会。

用于 never, hardly, seldom, scarcely, barely, little, often, at no time, not only, not once, many a time 等词开头的句子。

Never shall I go there again. 我再也不去那了。

Little did he know who the woman was.他基本上不知道那女人是谁。

Seldom was he late for class.他很少上学迟到。

用于 no sooner ... than ..., hardly... when... 和 not until... 的句型中

Hardly had I reached the station when the train left. 我刚到车站,火车就离开了。

No sooner had she gone out than the phone rang. 她刚离开,电话就响了。

Not until the teacher came did he finish his homework. 直到老师来,他才完成作业。

三、用于 only 放句首,修饰副词、介词短语或状语从句的句子。

省略句:

一、省略的目的

省略多见于非正式文体,尤其在对话中,省略是一种普遍的现象。英语中的省略一般说来有三个目的:

1.避免重复,减少累赘。省略的主要目的是避免重复,去掉不必要的累赘和繁琐。

Mike said that he would come to school to see me the next day, but he didn’t come to school to see me the next day.

Mike said that he would come to school to see me the next day, but he didn’t.

2.连接紧密,结构紧凑 省略也是使上下文紧密连接的一种修辞手段。

John was the winner in 1994 and Bob in 1998.(Bob 后省略了 was the winner,句子结构显得比较紧凑)

3.强调重点,突出信息 省略的另一作用是突出新的信息

Truth speaks too low, hypocrisy too loud.后一分句省略谓语 speaks,突出了 too loud)

二、句子成分的省略

为了避免重复,或者为了使某一内容引人注目,可以省略某些句子成分而保持句子原意不变。

1.省略主语

Beg your pardon.请你原谅。(= I beg your pardon.))

Serves you right. 你活该(= It serves you right.)

2.省略谓语

Anything the matter? 要紧吗?(= Is anything the matter?)

The river was deep and the ice thin. 河很深,冰很薄。

(= The river was deep and the ice was thin.)

3.省略表语

Are you ready? Yes,I am.(am 后面省略了表语 ready)

4.省略宾语

We have to analyze and solve problems. (analyze 后省略了宾语 problems)

Let’s do the dishes. I’ll wash and you’ll dry.(wash 和 dry 后面省略了宾语 dishes)

5.省略定语

He spent part of the money, and the rest he saved.(the rest 后面省略了定语 of the money)

6.省略状语

(Even)The wisest man cannot know everything.

省略在句子中的应用

在一个句子中,省略可分为依赖上下文省略和不依赖上下文省略两种。前者省略的部分可在句子中找到,但后者可能找不到。

1.简单句中的省略

依赖上下文的省略在对话中最为常用。

Like more beer?(= Would you like more beer?)

—World you mind if I used your telephone?

—Not at all. 一点也不。

(= I do not mind at all.)

—Will he pass this examination?

Probably. 大概会的。(= He will probably pass the examination.)

不依赖于上下文的省略。

2.并列句中的省略

(=It sounds like a good idea. 省略主语)

Everybody appears well prepared.

并列句中如果前后分句有相同的部分,常常可以省略掉,以避免重复。通常被省略的可以是主语、谓语、宾语或其他万分,或句子万分的一部分。

省略出现在后一分句

John likes collecting stamps but (John) hates listening to music.(省略主语)

省略出现在前一分句

We can (win tomorrow’s match), and certainly will,win tomorrow’s match.

复合句中的省略

3.在一些状语从句中,如果谓语动词是 be,主语又和主句的主语一致,或者主语是 it,常常可以把从句中的主语和 be 省略掉。

以 when, while, once, until 等连词引导的时间状语从句。

4.在比较从句中通常把和主句重复的部分省掉。

1、at

如:常用词组有: at noon, at night

表示时间的 at, in, on:表示片刻的时间,at 8 o’clock,at midnight, at the end of, at that time, at the beginning of, at the age of, at Christmas, at New Year 等。

in 表示一段的时间

如:in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening, in October, in 1998, in summer, in the past, in the future 等。

on 总是跟日子有关,on Monday, on Christmas morning, on the following, on May Day, on a warm morning 等。

2、表示时间的 since 和 from:since 表示从过去到现在的一段时间的过程,常与现在完成时连用:from 表示从时间的某一点开始,不涉及与现在的关系。一般多与现在时、过去时、将来时连用。

如:I hope to do morning exercises from today./ We have not seen each other since 1995.

3、表示时间的 in 和 after:两者都表示“在(某个时间)之后,区别在于in表示“在(一段时间)之后” ,而 after 则表示“在(某一具体时间点之后),in 短语 和将来时态连用,after 短语和过去时态或将来时态连用。

如:We’ll be back in three days.

After seven the rain began to fall.

What shall we do after graduation?

After two months he returned. 注意:after 有时也可以表示在一段时间之后(常用在过去时里)

4、表示地理位置的 in, on, to:in 表示在某范围内,on 指与什么毗邻,to 指在某环境范围之外

5、表示“在……上”的 on 和 in:on 只表示在某物的表面上,而用 in 表示占去某物一部分,表示……上。

如:There is a book on the piece of paper./ There is an interesting article in the newspaper./ He dug a hole in the wall.

介词又叫前置词,是一种虚词。

介词分为三种,一种是简单介词,如 at, in, on, beside, to , for 等;另一种是短语介词,即由两个以上的词组组成的短语,in front of, because of, out of, instead 如 of 等;还有一种二重介词,如 until after, from behind 等。

(一) 介词的句法功能:介词不能独立在句中做成份,介词后必须与名词、代词、或动名词构成介词短语在句中充当 一个成份,表示人、物、事件等与 其它 人、物、事件等之间的关系。

1、 作定语: The book on the table is mine.

2、 作状语: have breakfast at seven. We (表时间)They were late for meeting because of the heavy ; rain.(表原因) ;They started the machine by pressing the button.(表 方法 )

3、 作表语: My dictionary is in the bag.

4、 作宾语补足语: I found him in the office.

(二) 1.表示时间的介词

(1) in表示“在某一时间段”或“在某一时候”,如用在月、季、年份、时代、世纪等时间名词的前面,或用来泛指一天的某一段时间。in也可以指“在……之后”,表示从说话起的若干时间内。

如: in July/summer/2000/ancient times

The bus will be here in ten minutes.

(2) on表示“在特定的某一天”,也可用于带有修饰语的一天的某个时间段之前。如:on Saturday, on Saturday morning, on the morning of August 1st

(3) at表示“在某一时间点”,或用来表示不确定的时间和短期的假日、时节等。

如:at six o’clock, at Easter

(4) over, through (out)两者均指“经过的全部时间”。

如:Stay over the Christmas.

(5) for与since:for表示动作或状态延续的全部时间长度,为“长达……”之意;since用于指从过去特定的某个时刻到说话时为止的一段时间;含有since时间短语的 句子 要用完成时,但含有for时间短语的句子不一定要用完成时。

  2. 倒装句的构成

  a) 完全倒装

  将 句子 的主语和谓语完全颠倒过来,称之为完全倒装。

  Are you from here? 你是本地人吗?

  b) 部分倒装

  只将助动词、系动词或情态动词移至主语之前,谓语的其他部分仍保留在主语的后面,称之为部分倒装。例如:

  英语中过去分词可作宾补,(此时的过去分词一般是及物动词)表被动意义或完成意义,有时两者兼而有之。做宾补的过去分词与宾语有逻辑上的动宾关系,即宾语是过去分词动作的对象。如:

  She found the door broken in when she came back.(宾补与宾语有被动的关系,表一种状态。)

  一. 过去分词用在表状态的动词keep,leave等的后面。

  Eg:They kept the door locked for a long time.

  Keep your mouth shut and your eyes open.( 谚语 :少说多看)

  Don’t leave such an important thing undone.

  二.过分词用在get,have,make, 的后面。

  1.注意“have +宾语+过去分词”的两种情况:

如:常用词组有: at noon, at night

表示时间的 at, in, on:表示片刻的时间,at 8 o’clock,at midnight, at the end of, at that time, at the beginning of, at the age of, at Christmas, at New Year 等。

如:in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening, in October, in 1998, in summer, in the past, in the future 等。

  表示时间的状语从句可由when, as, while, whenever, after, before, till (until), since, once, as soon as (或the moment ), by the time, no sooner …… than, hardly (scarcely) …… when, every time等引导。

  e.g. When I came into the office, the teachers were having a meeting.

  He started as soon as he received the news.

  Once you see him, you will never forget him.

  No sooner had I gone to bed than I went to sleep.

   二、原因状语从句

  原因状语从句是表示原因或理由的,引导这类从句的最常用的连词是because, since, as , now that(既然)等,for 表示因果关系时(它引导的`不是从句)为并列连词,语气不如because强。

  e.g. He is disappointed because he didn‘t get the position.

  As it is raining, I will not go out.

  Now that you mention it, I do remember.

   三、地点状语从句

  引导地点状语从句的连词是where 和wherever等。

  e.g. Sit wherever you like.

  Make a mark where you have a question.

   四、目的状语从句

  引导目的状语从句最常用的词(组)是so, so that(从句谓语常有情态动词), in order that, in case(以防,以免)等。

  e.g. Speak clearly, so that they may understand you.

  She has bought the book in order that she could follow the TV lessons.

  He left early in case he should miss the train.

   五、结果状语从句

  结果状语从句是表示事态结果的从句,通常主句是原因,从句是结果。由so that(从句谓语一般没有情态动词), so …… that, such …… that等引导。

  e.g. She was ill, so that she didn’t attend the meeting.

  He was so excited that he could not say a word.

  She is such a good teacher that everyone admires her.

   六、条件状语从句

  条件状语从句分真实性(有可能实现的事情)与非真实性(条件与事实相反或者在说话者看来不大可能实现的事情)条件句。引导条件状语从句的词(组)主要有if, unless, so (as) long as, on condition that, so (as) far as, if only ( = if )。注意:条件从句中的if 不能用whether替换。

  e.g. If he is not in the office, he must be out for lunch.

  You may borrow the book so long as you keep it clean.

  So far as I know(据我所知), he will be away for three months.

  You can go swimming on condition that ( = if ) you don‘t go too far away from the river bank.

  If he had come a few minutes earlier, he could have seen her.

   七、让步状语从句

  让步状语从句可由although, though, as, even if (though), however, whatever, whether …… or, no matter who (when, what, ……) 等引导。注意:as引导的让步状语从句一般是倒装的。

  e.g. Though he is a child, he knows a lot.

  Child as he is, he knows a lot.

  Whatever ( = No matter what ) you say, I’ll never change my mind.

   八、方式状语从句

  方式状语从句常由as, as if (though), the way, rather than等引导。

  e.g. You must do the exercise as I show you.

  He acted as if nothing had happened.

   九、比较状语从句

  比较状语从句常用than, so (as) …… as, the more …… the more等引导。

  e.g. I have made a lot more mistakes than you have.

  He smokes cigarettes as expensive as he can afford.

  The busier he is, the happier he feels.

   十、使用状语从句时要注意的几个问题

  1. 在时间和条件(有时也在方式、让步等)从句中,主句是一般将来时,从句通常用一般现在时表示将来。

  e.g. We‘ll go outing if it doesn’t rain tomorrow.

  I‘ll write to you as soon as I get to Shanghai.

  2. 有些时间、地点、条件、方式或让步从句,如果从句的主语与主句主语一致(或虽不一致,是it),从句的谓语又包含动词be,就可省略从句中的“主语 + be”部分。

  e.g. When (he was) still a boy of ten, he had to work day and night.

  If (you are) asked you may come in.

  If (it is) necessary I’ll explain to you again.

  3. 注意区分不同从句:引导的是什么从句,不仅要根据连词,还要根据句子结构和句意来判别。以where为例,能引导多种从句。

  e.g. You are to find it where you left it.(地点状语从句)

  Tell me the address where he lives.(定语从句,句中有先行词)

  I don‘t know where he came from.(宾语从句)

  Where he has gone is not known yet.(主语从句)

  This place is where they once hid.(表语从句)

主谓一致

  1、以单数名词或代词、动词不定式短语作主语时,谓语动词要用单数;主语为复数时,谓语用复数。(最基本的)

  2、由and或both……and连接的并列成分作主语时,谓语动词用复数。

  但并列主语如果指的是同一人、同一事物或同一概念,谓语动词用单数。

  3、由and连接的并列单数主语之前如果分别由each, every, no修饰时,其谓语动词要用单数形式。

  4、主语是单数时,尽管后面跟有 but ,except, besides, with ,as well as ,together with ,along with,like 等引导的介词短语时 ,谓语动词与前面的主语一致。

  注意:主语和谓语之间插入了分词短语,谓语要与主语保持一致。

  5、一些只有复数形式的名词,如people, police, cattle, clothes等作主语时,谓语动词要用复数。

  6、集体名词family, class, team, group 等看作整体时,谓语动词用单数;看作每一个成员时,谓语动词用复数。

  7、 当表示国家,城市,人名,书名,报纸,杂志,及组织机构等的专有名词做主语时,作为整体,谓语动词用单数形式。

  8、 news ,maths,physics ,politics等词貌似复数,实为单数,其谓语动词用单数.

  9、“the +形容词”(如the poor ,the rich ,the young, the old , the dead ,the sick,the brave 等)作主语,谓语动词往往用复数

  10、表时间、距离、价格、度量衡等的名词作主语时,谓语动词通常用单数。

  11、由连词not……but……, or, either……or, neither……nor, not only…but also,等连接的并列主语,如果一个是单数,一个是复数,则谓语动词按就近一致原则,与最靠近它的主语一致。(这个就是就近原则)

  12、There be句型、以here开头的句子谓语动词和靠近的主语一致。

  13、a number of后面加复数名词或代词,其动词用复数形式;但the number of后面加复数名词或代词时,其谓语用单数。

  14、在定语从句中主语是关系代词who , that , which , 谓语动词的数应与先行词的数一致。

  注意在“one of +复数名词+ who/that/which”引导的定语从句中,从句谓语的单复数取决 于one前是否有the (only)、the very。如果有,从句的谓语动词用单数,如没有the only, 就用复数形式。

  省略

  Ⅰ、状语从句中的省略用法

  以if从句为代表的状语从句中的特殊省略用法:通常省略了it is,that is,there is/are。

  Ⅱ、定语从句中的省略用法

  关系词的省略 关系代词that,which,whom等在限制性定语从句中充当宾语且不位于介词之后时,可以省略;in which或that在先行词way后作方式状语从句时可省略。

  Ⅲ、虚拟语气中if及should的省略

  1、 当条件状语从句中有were,had,should等时省略if,把它们提至句首,形成倒装句。

  2、 Suggest,insist,order,require等表示建议、要求、命令的动词后接的名词性从句中,谓语动词常用“should+动词原形”,should可以省略。

  Ⅳ、不定式符号to的省略

  1、 感官动词see,hear,feel,watch等和使役动词have,make,let等后接不定式作宾语时,不定式省略to。

  2、 在特定语境中为了避免重复,当不定式再次出现时,在want,wish,hope,try,plan,like,love,hate后往往只保留to,而省略后面的动词。但不定式后有be,have时,也保留be和have。

  Ⅴ、So和not的替代性省略

  用于避免重复前面所说过的内容,替代词so/not替代肯定或否定的名词性从句。可与believe,do,expect,fear,guess,hope,say,speak,suppose,think,I’m afraid等连用

  倒装

  1.在there be/live/lie句型中用全部倒装:

  2.在以there, here, now, then +be/come/go+主语的句子中用全部倒装:

  3.以off, away, out, in, up, down等副词开头的句子以示强调或为了使情景更生动,句子用全部倒装:

(表语前置) 4.表示次数,顺序的副词位于句首要倒装。 Twive within her lifetime has she been to England. 她一生已两次到过英国。 Next came a man in his forties. 下一个来的是一个40几岁的人。 5.与前面的句子相同,表示“也”,后面句子开头常用“so, neither, nor,either,no more”等引导的倒装句,并用do, have, be, can代替实义动词。 They can leave now, so can we. 他们现在可以离开了,我们也能。 You have helped her, and so has she you. 你帮助过她,她也帮助过你。 ★但是如果表示对前面句子的肯定则不用倒装。 He is a good student, so he did. 他是个好学生,他的确是. *6.than或as引导的分句,表示两个句子的主语相比较时,要用倒装,用法与前一个相似. John will give you more than will Jack. Jonh给你要比Jack多. He travelled a great deal as did most of his friends. 他到过很多地方旅行,他的多数朋友也是这样. 7.从句中关系副词的倒装 He could tell where his home was. *8.well等表示方式,程度的副词位于句首要倒装。 Well did I know her. 我很了解她。 *9.有情态动词的谓语中,行为动词的倒装表示强调。 Write a poem I can’t, let me write an essay instead. 二.修辞倒装 1. Only在句首引导的状语从句表示强调要倒装。如果句子为主从复合句,则主句倒装,从句不倒装 Only in this way can we learn English well. Only when one falls ill does one know the value of the health. 2.never等具有否定意义的词和词组居于句首要倒装。(紧跟否定词后的句子倒装,其他句子为正常语序。) 常见的否定词有:never、rarely、seldom、little、hardly、not、nowhere等 常见的否定词组有:not until、not often、hardly…when、no sooner…than、neither…nor、not only… but also Little did I know that she had already left. 我一点也不知道她离开了。 Not often do they meet. 他们不常见面。 Not only is he rich but also he is very kind. ★*Not 放在句首修饰句子的主语,构成主语的一部分,则不需要倒装。 Not a word was said. Not a word did I say at the meeting. (not 修饰谓语动词) →I didn’t say a word at the meeting. 3. as / though引导的让步从句(就是as/though表“虽然、尽管”的意思)必须将表语或状语(形容词, 副词, 分词,动词,名词)提前 形容词Young as/thought she is, she has seen much of the world. 她虽然年轻,但却见过许多世面。 副词Hard though he tried, he still failed. 他虽然努力了,但仍然失败了 动词Object hard as you may/do/will, I ’ ll go. 纵使你反对,我也要去. ◆句首是实义动词, 其他助动词放在主语后。如果实义动词有宾语和状语, 随实义动词一起放在主语之前。 分词:Situated as it was near the market, the house was very quiet. 房子虽然坐落在市场附近,但它很安静。 名词:Quiet student as he may be, he talks a lot after class. ◆句首名词不能带任何冠词,但可带定语. *”that”引导原因状语从句从句中的表语一定要用倒装。 Pretty that she is, she attracks many men. 因为她漂亮,因此她吸引了很多男人。 4.为加强语气,“so…that”的结构中的so, such放在句首是要倒装 He walked so fast that none of us could catch up with him. →So fast did he walked that none of us could catch up with him. 5.为使句子平衡,用倒装。 (1)主语较长,倒装表语 On the floor were piles of books, magazines and newspaper. 地板上是一堆堆的书,杂志和报纸。 Happy are those who are contented. 知足者常乐。 (2)倒装宾语以求强调 What he did, I can’t imagine. Every word he spoke to her, she felt as a insult. 他对她说的每一个字,她都认为是侮辱。 6.为了生动地描写动作,“in, out, away, up, down,off”等副词可以放在句首倒装.用法与第一个相似. 高二年级英语语法知识重点【篇一】

动词不定式具有名词、形容词和副词的特征。因此在句中可以做主语、表语、宾语、宾语补足语、定语和状语。

一、不定式做主语:

1、不定式做主语一般表示具体的某次动作。===动名词doing 表示习惯的,经常的动作。

e.g: To finish the building in a month is difficult.

To do such things is foolish.

To see is to believe. (对等)

注: 1). 不定式作主语时,谓语用单数

2). 当主语较长,谓语较短时,常用it做形式主语,而将不定式放到谓语的后面。

it做形式主语,不定式放在谓语动词之后常用于下列结构中:

(1)It is/was +adj.+of sb. to do…

(2) It is +adj.+for sb.+to do…

It is easy / difficult / hard / foolish / unwise / right / wrong / unnecessary

(3) it is +a +名词+ to do...

It is a pity / a pleasure / a pleasant thing / one’s duty / an honor / a shame / a crime / no easy job… to do

It takes (sb.) some time / courage / patience …to do…

It requires courage / patience / hard work… to do…

*注意: probable 和 possible 均可作表语,但possible可以用不定式作真实主语, 而probable不能用不定式作真实主语。

It is probable for him to come to the meeting.(错)

It is possible for him to come to the meeting.

It is possible / probable that he will come to the meeting.

二、不定式做表语

主语是以aim duty hope idea intention plan job suggestion wish purpose task 等为中心词的名词词组 或以 what 引导的名词性从句表示,后面的不定式说明其内容, 不定式作表语常表示将来或现在的动作或状态。

eg :My idea is to climb the mountain from the north.

Your mistake was not to write that letter.

What I would suggest is to start work at once.

三、动词不定式作宾语

以不定式结构为宾语的动词有:

ask, agree, care, choose, demand, decide, expect, fail, help, hope, learn, manage, offer, plan, prepare, pretend, promise, refuse, want, wish等只能用动词不定式作宾语

口诀(接不定式作宾语的动词)

想要学习 早打算( want learn plan)

快准备 有希望( prepare hope wish expect)

同意否 供选择(agree offer choose)

决定了 已答应(decide be determined promise)

尽力去 着手做(manage undertake)

别拒绝 别假装(refuse pretend)

e.g.Tom refused to lend me his pen.

We hope to get there before dark.

The girl decided to do it herself.

英语中过去分词可作宾补,(此时的过去分词一般是及物动词)表被动意义或完成意义,有时两者兼而有之。做宾补的过去分词与宾语有逻辑上的动宾关系,即宾语是过去分词动作的对象。如:

She found the door broken in when she came back.(宾补与宾语有被动的关系,表一种状态。)

一. 过去分词用在表状态的动词keep,leave等的后面。

Eg:They kept the door locked for a long time.

Keep your mouth shut and your eyes open.(谚语:少说多看)

Don’t leave such an important thing undone.

Don’t leave the windows broken like this all the time.

二.过分词用在get,have,make, 的后面。

1.注意“have +宾语+过去分词”的两种情况:

A)表"让某人做某事/让某事(被人)做"

eg: I have had my bike repaired.

The villagers had many trees planted just then.

B)表"遭遇到某种不幸,受到打击/受....影响,蒙受..... 损失"

Eg:I had my wallet stolen on a bus last month.

The old man had his leg broken in the accident.

He had his leg broken in the match yesterday.(MET1986)

2."make+宾语+过去分词",在这种结构中,过去分词的动词必须是表示结果含义的。如:

They managed to make themselves understood in very simple English.

I raised my voice to make myself heard.

三、过去分词用在感观动词watch,notice,see,hear,listen to ,feel,find等后面。如

When we got to school,we saw the door locked.

We can hear the windows beaten by the heavy rain drops.

He felt himself cheated.

The managers discussed the plan that they would like to see carried out the next year.(NMET2000)

四、过去分词用在want,wish,like ,expect等表示“希望,愿望”这一类动词后面做宾补。如

The boss wouldn’t like the problem discussed at the moment.

I would like my house painted white.

I want the suit made to his own measure.

I wish the problem settled.

五、过去分词用在“with +宾语+宾补”这一结构中,过去分词与宾语之间是动宾关系。如:

The thief was brought in with his hands tied behind his back.

With many brightly-coloured flowers planted around the building ,his house looks like a beautiful garden.

With everything well arranged,he left the office.

六、过去分词、现在分词、和不定式作宾补的区别。

现在分词作宾补:宾语和补语之间是主谓关系。其动作与谓语动作同时进行。

过去分词作宾补:宾语和补语之间是动宾关系。其动作先于谓语动作。

不定式作宾补: 表一个完成的动作、或表一个很短时间内看到、听到或感觉到的具体动作。

eg:He didn’t notice me waiting.

I heard the song sung in English.

I saw him opening the window.

I saw the window opened.

I saw him open the window.

I heard her sing the song in English.
